Theresa’s medical fund

On January 9, 2015 around 5:30 in the morning theresa had gone missing. Her family and friends believed she was at work. When she never returned from work to her apartment in Queens her roommates thought that maybe she had gone out with some friends. As the time got later and later her roommates grew more worried. A call to her workplace Tuesday morning informed us that theresa had not shown up for work friday  and they have had no contact with her. Immediately the police were called and a search started.January 10, 2015 around 4:30 pm a truck driver had spotted theresa a half mile from the Farmingdale train station close to the train tracks. she was unconscious but showed some movement when the driver called out. She was brought to the emergency room and her family was contacted by a detective who is investigating what happened.The injuries theresa has are severe. On top of traumatic brain injuries she was unconscious in the cold for almost 36 hours. Her body temperature when brought to the ER was 75 degrees. To allow her to survive her body took extreme measures to protect her heart which damaged some other organs such as her kidneys. Currently she is in ICU and the doctors are working on keeping her stable and making her vital organs fully functional. An initial CAT scan showed injuries and a lot of swelling in the brain, but theresa has not been strong enough to undergo testings and/or treatments.We are asking that everyone who reads this, be it friends, family or strangers, that they take the time to say a prayer for theresa. Although only theresa can tell us what occurred between the time he left her apartment in Astoria to the time she was found unconscious in Farmingdale, we are focusing all of our energy now on helping her get better.This page is set up to help the Chau family with all medical and other expenses that can occur in these situations.
