This is for my sister, Theresa Fabroa, before her current situation she had on and off fever along with lower back pain a few days prior. On Tuesday, April 16, she went to work but she felt malaise and fatigued and decided to head home. While waiting for a ride she was already chilling with fever while sitting on the road. A concerned citizen brought her to the emergency room of Perpetual Succour Hospital. Her temperature is at 42 degrees, arms and legs twitching, and the whites of her eyes barely visible.
April 17, around noon, she coughed up and vomited blood. The doctors and nurses rushed to her aid but she already had Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Now she is confined in intensive care unit (ICU), with collapsing lungs, barely responding, and can only breathe with the help of a mechanical ventilator and needs to be sedated for her to calm down. Later she was diagnosed with Acute respiratory distress syndrome secondary to septic shock secondary to pyelonephritis. Doctors are still figuring out the source of infection by doing every lab tests possible as most of the lab tests are negative of infection, her organs are not getting better.
Recovery of her lungs is the priority now for her to breathe on her own. Once recovered, the doctors will then move to have her kidneys treated with some procedures.
With all her medications, laboratory tests, mechanical ventilator rent and confinement in the ICU, we can't keep up with the bills. My family have used up all possible resources, although we have received some support from our relatives, unfortunately these are still not enough. The bill is running high everyday and time is of the essence. We’re currently asking help from charitable institutions (hospital’s charity, Champ & PCSO) but time is very crucial given her condition. We do not know when and if it will be granted.
Any amount of financial assistance is greatly appreciated. We are asking for your help, badly, and it breaks my heart seeing her like this every day. She is a goal oriented individual who works hard. I wish I could make the suffering go away but I cannot. Thank you for taking the time to read this far and be blessed everyday of your life. I will be forever grateful to you.
