Campaign Story
I started my business this year with the intention to do something for myself. To work hard towards something i want to do in the future. But now i realise, i want to work hard, because i want to help others.
When i first started my business, i felt something was missing. I pondered on this for some time, and realised, I don't want to just do things for me anymore. I knew i was going to the Philippines early 2016, so i wholeheartedly decided i was going to find a charity that resonated with me, and i was going to give a portion of my wages that i earnt, towards helping others.
I researched days and nights, sometimes until 3am, trying to find a charity that didn't just asked for money, but asked for help, that asked to be donated supplies, food and water. It took 2 months, but i finally came across Karinderia ni mang urot. A non profit organisation, giving food to the homeless 3 times a week in Quezon City Philippines. Not only that, but providing clothing, linens, and school supplies for children, vitamins, canned goods, fresh drinking water. The list goes on. I researched everything i could about this organisation, and just knew that this was what i was meant to do. In February /March 2016 i will be donating money, supplies and my time to this organisation whilst i am in the Philippines.
Did you know it is estimated that around 22.8 million people, including 1.2 million children, are residing in slums in Metro Manila. The highest homeless population in the world. That is nearly Australia's population. To say this breaks my heart is an understatement.
So, for my birthday this coming November 29, i don't ask for a present, but i ask you to dig deep into your pockets, but more importantly into your hearts to help me help others, and this will be the best present i could ever receive. Knowing my loved ones are rich of heart which makes you wealthy beyond compare.
$1-$2 can easily feed 1 person. $40 can feed up to 50-80 people in a night. I ask you to give what you can, every donation is appreciated, and i thank you so much for supporting me.
