Who am i ?

My name is Jordon Millward born and raised in Stoke On Trent.

Why am i raising money ?

I want too raise money for our community too spend on its youth during the summer holidays 2013.

What will i do with the money?

I intend too organise and create FREE events around Stoke On Trent for its younger population this summer 2013 consisting of entertainment,creative workshops, competitions

How much do intend too raise ?

£6000

Why so much ?

I intend too spend £1000 per week during the six week holidays in the six towns of Stoke On Trent too improve the local community for the youth by organising events for them too attend in their local area and too improve upon local facilities such parks etc

MY STORY ?

Growing up in Stoke On Trent for me wasnt all that bad but looking back i realise there could have been so much more done for our local youth and community. As a teenager i would spend most of my time being a nuisance instead of a valued member of the community,even when we hung out by local shops or parks we eventually came into confrontation with the police, telling us too desperse if we were seen too be dossing. This made me in particular feel like we were not wanted because the communtity didnt always appreciate us being there. This was a vicious circle because there was rarely something for us too do that was organsied properly or productive in the slightest.When we were doing something productive like playing football or any other sports we had too organise it almongst ourselfs,if older peers came to play we would sometimes have too abandon our game because they simply did not want too share the pitch with us. I belive this created a hierarchy and eventually idividual gangs/gang culture.Sometimes if we organised a day trip or an activity amongst our group sometimes the hardships of reallity would all too often kick in when one of our friends would ask for money too join us and they could not come because their parents didnt have the money at the time,for the expensive activity we planed too do weather it was a trip to Alton Towers or the cinema and so they were left out sometimes. This child may resort too crime as a means too provide for himself so he can attend events like this with his friends. just my point of veiw but regardless of this the youth is the future we must invest in them

BECAUSE BY DOING SO YOU WILL BE ACTIVLEY HELPING YOUR AREA AND SEND OUT A POSITIVE MESSAGE TOO THE YOUTH AND SHOW THEM THEY ARE VALUED IN OUR SOCIETY
