Who we are!
As you know, or you may not know The Real Junk Food Project Portsmouth launched a little over a month ago. After I became wonderfully inspired by Adam Smith who is the Co-Founder of The Real Junk Food Project. His unbelieveably powerful response to the food wastage in this country is both inspiring and exciting, so we wanted to start doing the same thing in Portsmouth!
Since then we have been gradually building up our suppliers of waste and surplus food, although we do need more, to then feed to lots of hungry bellies rather than bins! At the moment we feed people through our sister project The Homecooked LOVE Project where we deliver meals for FREE on a Wednesday to those struggling in life - see the video below:

Now we are opening our 'pop up' The Waste Not Want Not Cafe Nights at The Art Lodge, Victora Park, Portsmouth on 7th April and hopefully continually each Tuesday thereafter. What we are raising money for! However, we need help with getting equipment for the project, i.e soup kettles, cutlery, plates, dishes and so much more! Plus money towards things like petrol and other such things that you hardly think about in the day to day running of this very important project!
Obviously, as all our food cooked at the cafe is 100% 'Pay As You Feel' which means the food is not free, however this does mean that if people are unable to pay for whatever reason they can do so by helping out on our dinner nights, cleaning up afterwards and lots of other ways (i.e. busking for our guests). But first we just need to get things moving and soon we know that any money that does get donated will go towards both projects, because after all our motto is 'lets REALLY feed the world!
Any questions please ask by emailing me at [email protected]
Take care and hope to see you soon!
