My name is Darren Iannotti and I manage Goodknight Productions myself. Goodknight Productions hires many freelance musicians, composers & mixers from all around the world who reproduce music themes from the video games in a variety of styles and themes and often in direct emulation. My role is to organize and manage the development of the tracks and albums as a whole so the tracks are compiled, organized and set up for distribution & licensing. Then when the albums are prepared and ready to go, they’re sent off to the online stores to be shared with the fans.
Up to now iv'e managed the funding for many different video game cover series and albums myself in an effort to create an online video game cover music store, for the fans of video game music. Theirs alot of awesome video game music out their and for every track we've released theirs a ton more that we haven't and that I don't even know about.
So now I want to take a knew direction and step away from primarily doing full length feature albums and instead doing track requests from the fans of our cover music versions.
All funds from this fundraiser will be used to take on your track requests. If you guy have track requests, than please email me, Darren Iannotti at, [email protected] will collate the track requests I receive and eventually when we get a good response from the fans and participants, we'll vote on the tracks that have been proposed and the tracks that get the most support we'll be sent off to be recreated by freelance musicians when were ready to take the next step.
The funds will be used to hire freelance musicians who will recreate, mix and master the tracks. I have used many of these freelancers before and have a good relationship with them. I use multiple freelancers to do complete the tracks at a faster rate and also because it gives the tracks it helps tocreate a more diverse feel. I work with most of these freelancers online and they come from all over the world. The first project I did was a 3 volume collection devoted to the Donkey Kong Country series of games, which had more than 80 tracks and involved over 20 freelancers from all over the world. This was my first project and turned out to be an expensive one. Those albums as well as many others which came out afterword have been licensed and distributed to online stores such as Itunes and Spotify, where their sold. The sale of these albums and tracks helps keep this brand going and me managing it full time.
Doing a fundraiser like this allows GKP to grow and diversify the store with greater variety and a more comprehensive selection of tracks. Im also able to know what to provide fans....what you want, by the simplest of means - I ask you guys.
This project will take time and i'll have to play it by ear. When we have enough participation, track requests and funds to utilize than we'll be able to move on to getting them done. What I want to do is get all your track request ideas. I will compile these and after a while, when we have enough participation and ideas floating around, ill email you guys the list and get you to vote on your top preferances. Maybe your top 5 or top 3, (I'm not sure yet) ill The target im hoping to achieve is to raise $20,000, to put to use on 250 knew tracks. If the best this project can raise is $10,000, than the planned tracks to do would amount to 125. I'll adjust accordingly. But really, whatever we have to work with, is what we'll be using in the end.
For supporters who contribute $15, I am providing access to download the entire current Gooknight Productions catalog. Probably the best way to sample and view whats in the catalog would be to check it out on Itunes preview and listen to the track previews there;
Here is a list of the current GKP Catalog and where you can preview the album soundtracks on youtube;
In order for this project to be successful it will require alot of fan participation. I'll try to promote this project as much as I can myself. But nothing spreads better than word of mouth. If any of you guys want to participate in this fundraiser and wouldn't minding sharing a post of this page and what where' trying to do, (along with the game music rewards available), on facebook, or with friends who are video game fans, i'd be very appreciative. Every little bit counts.
This is the first time im using a crowd fundraising platform and I know it can be bit confusing to understand. To see the FAQ about the Goget Funding platform click here;
