October of 2017 was meant to be an exciting time in our lives...several months later, we're trying to pick up the pieces.

My fiancee, Christy, and I, relocated to Central Illinois from Dallas, TX for my new career opportunity five months ago. Everything with the new move was carefully planned, but the results were shockingly horrid.

For starters, Christy lost her Corporate America job prematurely back in Dallas. She had negotiated a remote transfer but things fell through when her department suddenly closed without notice, only a week before our move. There went her income...

A day before our move, the moving company we used charged us a grotesque amount of money, far exceeding the billed total. We're still battling this situation. Chase Bank N.A. has been a fantastic partner in this struggle, but it still continues.

Scrambling at the last minute, we were able to get a last-minute move together with a Dallas moving company, but had to pay a $5,000 surplus/last-minute charge for the across state lines move. Big ouch.

Two months after settling in Central Illinois, Christy became very sick. Without insurance, we racked up serious medical bills and are now $28,000 in debt. This amount includes the fiasco with our move, her losing the Dallas job, needing to use credit cards to cover things to get here, and the medical bills.

We're struggling, and the stress is awful. Central Illinois is a much smaller job market for her, and she's still struggling to land a decent job. A beautiful thing about her Chinese heritage is paper cranes and stars, and their meaning. She's been selling some hand-made creations on Etsy but it's no where near enough to help us with current bills and our debt.

Please help us if you're able.
We've hit a road thats been tough to travel down. Both of our parents are retired and on set incomes, so we don't know what to do.
