The TrickyScribe, a team of enthusiastic scribes and content marketers, brings in the all exclusive stories related to environment-protection from India and abroad.

The TrickyScribe‘s write-ups rely on presenting mundane, everyday events as newsworthy, surreal or alarming, covering current events, real and fictional, in tone and format of traditional organizations with stories, editorials, opinion pieces and man-in-the-street interviews using online magazine website and an editorial voice modeled in accordance with the norms prevalent. Climate change is the most challenging issue among those prevalent, will continue to remain our focus!

Read newsworthy The TrickyScribe‘s write-ups on the impact of climate change on the local art & culture, business, lifestyle and the technologies in vogue. The motto is ‘catch them young’, making young denizens the target audience for this digital magazine. The recent surge in the number of internet users is likely to throttle us like never before.

What is the issue the product addresses?

India being home to 1.2 billion denizens needs high volumes of fresh air, healthy food, clean space and drinking water. The aforementioned demand is increasing with the gradual increase in the population. Climate Change is affecting lives in many ways. We are witnessing extreme events frequently. Be it droughts or cyclones, earthquakes or floods, extreme events in most of the cases are nothing but the manifestation of Climate Change.

Climate change is one of the major challenges of the present day and adds considerable stress to our societies and to the environment. From shifting weather patterns that threaten food production, to rising sea levels that increase the risk of catastrophic flooding, the impacts of climate change are global in scope and unprecedented in scale. Without drastic action today, adapting to these impacts in the future will be more difficult and costly.

Human Fingerprint on Greenhouse Gases

Greenhouse gases (GHGs) occur naturally and are essential to the survival of humans and millions of other living things, by keeping some of the sun’s warmth from reflecting back into space and making Earth livable. A century and a half of industrialization, including clear-felling forests and certain farming methods, has driven up quantities of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. As populations, economies and standards of living grow, so do the cumulative GHG emission level.

Points to Ponder

  • Concentration of GHGs in the earth’s atmosphere is directly linked to the average global temperature on earth;
  • The concentration has been rising steadily, and mean global temperatures along with it, since the time of the Industrial Revolution;
  • Carbon dioxide (CO2), the most abundant GHG, is the product of combustion of fossil fuels.

Fifth Assessment Report

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in its Fifth Assessment Report provides a comprehensive assessment of sea level rise, and its causes, over the past few decades. It also estimates cumulative CO2 emissions since pre-industrial times and provides a CO2 budget for future emissions to limit warming to less than 2 °C. About half of this maximum amount was already emitted by 2011. Thanks to the IPCC, this is what we know:

  • Average global temperature increased by 0.85 °C between 1880 and 2012.
  • Oceans have warmed; the amounts of snow and ice have diminished triggering a rise in the sea level. Global average sea level rose by 19 cm between 1901 and 2010, as sea level is directly proportional with temperature levels. Sea ice extent in the Arctic has shrunk in every successive decade since 1979, with 1.07 × 106 km² of ice loss per decade.
  • Given current concentrations and ongoing emissions of greenhouse gases, it is likely that the end of this century will see a 1–2° C increase in global mean temperature above the 1990 level (about 1.5–2.5° C above the pre-industrial level). The world’s oceans will warm and ice melt will continue. Average sea level rise is predicted to be 24–30 cm by 2065 and 40–63 cm by 2100 relative to the reference period of 1986–2005, according to a United Nations Report. Most aspects of climate change will persist for many centuries, even if emissions are stopped.

There is alarming evidence that important tipping points, leading to irreversible changes in major ecosystems and the planetary climate system, may already have been reached or passed. Ecosystems as diverse as the Amazon rainforest and the Arctic tundra may be approaching thresholds of dramatic change through warming and drying. Mountain glaciers are in alarming retreat and the downstream effects of reduced water supply in the driest months will have repercussions that transcend generations.

What The TrickyScribe has to offer?

Pollution is rising. Climate change is adversely affecting human lives in many ways. We are witnessing extreme events frequently. The TrickyScribe aims at raising public awareness regarding the same. For that would lead the common man to take an informed decision for the systematic improvement of the conditions prevalent. The bourgeoisie, if given a choice, will always try and save the environment for the future generations leading to a better tomorrow.

The TrickyScribe offers to create public awareness on the issues facing the environment with a simultaneous urge of finding and thereby suggesting solutions for curbing and restricting them. Not only will an informed population better decide solutions but it will also be in a better place to counter or sustain it. The TrickyScribe aspires working shoulder to shoulder with government and other like-minded agencies in chalking out a way for a better tomorrow.

Business Model

The TrickyScribe plans its journey in four broad phases (detailed later) and have a reasonable readers’ base. This being said, the basic idea behind The TrickyScribe is that of making the environment a sellable product and we are all set to becoming a profit-making body against the non-profits working in the same sector. We rely on CPC and affiliate advertising as earning one’s share is always better than pleading for charity.

The TrickyScribe finds market leaders as its competitors. Tricky Scribe Media Ventures Private Limited is DIPP certified StartUp India project. Our global reach figures speak it all!
