Who am I?

My goal in life is to inspire others. Hello - my name is Jeremy David Hiebert and I am both a freelance writer and an electronic musician. In my teenage years, inspired by the music of the Lord of the Rings, I began to compose my own music on my parent's piano. Eventually I connected the keyboard to my iMac and began to create an increasingly diverse range of music. My Father decided to shoot a feature film entitled Where Is My Father, and as his son, I willingly provided the soundtrack for free. Then came another opportunity in the shape of Chasing Boulevards, a wonderful film shot in the Philippines which I did for free.  

I aspire to continue creating powerful music for films and for audiences who find my music inspiring. But in order to do so, I will need some financial support to fund my time off work. The Album

Although my primary goal is to become a full-time film composer, as a thank-you to everyone willing to donate to my time creating music, I've decided to create an inspirational album, of the type of music heard in the video at the top of this page. The album will be entitled "When the Stars Begin to Shake", a line taken from a poem I recently wrote:

My Other Realities

They floated on a dream

Until the whispers went away.

Then

The stars began to shake.

So we made a memory,

Out of nothing.

I stayed dim, until,

Washing against the soul,

We came blinded with the light.

The poem is about how we like to detach ourselves from reality by losing ourselves in dreams, fantasy and entertainment. Nevertheless, the struggles we face in life cause the dream, or "stars", above us to "shake". We have two choices, the poem suggests, to resign ourselves to the dull monotony of life, or to step further into our dreams until we become "blinded with the light."
