Campaign Story
It is estimated that over 70% of adults with dementia are cared for in their own homes. As these individuals progress along the stages of dementia, the effects of their cognitive changes increase. People with dementia will start to experience memory loss, increased confusion, and impaired judgment. This is a distressing time for both the individual and their caretakers.
It is essential that the caretaker transforms the home into a safe space as the disease progresses. The number one barrier restricting the making of these modifications are financial constraints. We aim to change this.
Mission: Provide home modifications and guidance for people with dementia and their caregivers.
How can you help? Any and all donations will go towards fulfilling our mission. Initial costs will go towards incorporating The Serene Homes Association as a nonprofit in the state of NY and registering as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation. All further funds raised will go into building out the resources required to start making home modifications.
We want donors to feel the impact their funds are making. We have created a mailing list, that anyone can join, to provide updates for fundraisers and charitable activities.
