Dear potential donor,

If you are interested in contributing to a truly worthy and extremely ambitious long-term project, then you have come to the right place!

The School of Life Project is a strategic and long-term development project, an educational initiative which aims to prepare children of all ages for both multi-lingual academic success as well as a multitude of practical, hands-on task related activities relative to the real world and everyday living, even including advanced survival skills. This project will be far more than a simple activity camp, it will represent the beginning of a new era in truly intercultural and world-embracing education.

Future participants in the program, both young people and volunteers, as well as future permanent staff (and the children's parents) will have a unique opportunity to take part in a multitude of educational and practical activities, all of which will develop both theoretical reasoning (preparing them for passing international examinations) and advanced level skills in all areas of life, such as in the manual trades, IT, science, languages, commerce, medicine and caring for others, as well as intercultural understanding and communication, martial arts, all nature of sports and fitness related activities, and a host of other important and relevant life and survival skills, such as sewing, cooking international cuisine, arts and crafts.

This programme will enable a new generation of children and their families to reach far beyond the traditional values and limitations of their own societies, languages and cultures, and to truly embrace a rapidly changing world. Graduates of the programme would leave being far better prepared for the real world than is currently possible in traditional national or private education, regardless of the country.

The short term objective of the project would be to purchase a small group of islands (probably in the Philippines) and then build a tropical island training centre and suitable accommodation for staff and guests. This would be followed by the establishment of a number of yearly camps, where volunteers and future permanent staff would come and start to construct the long-term educational goals of the project. It would also be possible for these people to attend a number of free trainings and seminars and to participate actively in brainstorming sessions as part of their stay, as well as to enjoy the the oustanding natural beauty of the surroundings and to simply relax. Families would also be more than welcome, although conditions may be very rudimentary in the early stages of the project.

The long-term goal of the project is to build a full-scale educational institution, covering primary to secondary level education and possibly higher level vocational studies, where parents and their children would be able to reside, study and be part of the ongoing development of the project. The children would attend the school, while the parents would work as part of the educational staff or the administrative, construction, maintenance or marketing teams. All participants in the project would also get the opportunity to travel very widely, both in and around south-east Asia, as well as elsewhere in the world, as discovery of the natural world and both modern and tranditional business will be integral parts of the programme, the primary purpose of all academic teaching being to make it directly relevant to real-life activities and professions.

The overall objective of the project is to equip future generations of young people from around the world, as well as their families, with both the theoretical and practical skills, as well as the languages they will need in order to be serious players in a global economy, in addition to being  able to survive and assist other peope under extreme conditions, such as in the case of natural disasters or during a war or famine.

This project will require a very large initial investment to purchase the large area of land (or island group) that will be required for the project's establishment, as well as for the initial and ongoing construction, plus significant ongoing investment in all other areas. Therefore, we are looking for both small and large scale one-off donations, as well as ongoing financial commitments and commercial sponsorships to cover the costs of construction materials, excavation and construction machinery, means of transportation to and from the site (such as trucks, boats, etc), and all the fittings and equipment and materials necessary for both the school's educational programme and the staff and student housing and daily sustenance of the community, not withstanding the costs of flights and insurance for students and staff, and finally the permanent staff's salaries. To put it in simple terms, there is no limit that can be reasonably set on funding. All future funding will be appreciated, both large and small.

We fully understand that this project is not a short term project but rather, it represents a lifetime of work. With this in mind, we are actively seeking donations from individuals and corporations which would be interested in becoming our long-term partners in this project.

All contributors will benefit from international media exposure, if desired, and also an open invitation to visit the project as it porgresses. However, for good reasons, although all financial and other contrubutions will be highly valued, as will any tactical or intellectual input, the project must remain completely independent from its donors. I will therefore be run as a not-for-profit charitable trust. Any potential profits that may one day be occasioned from the school's activities would go straight back into the project's development fund.

Thank you very much for having spent the time reading this information and for your interest in this very ambitious project and we look forward to welcoming your participation and input. For more information and in the case of desiring to participate in the project either financially or physically, please feel free to contact the project's development team directly via e-mail through this site.

Sincerely,

The School of Life Project development team.
