Hello everyone. I am a student at a university in London. Every morning and evening, I see homeless people, living in their own filth, littered around the dirty streets as if they were disposable trash.
I feel like I lose a bit of my humanity every time I walk by. I give when I have something to give, but as any student would know, when doing your Masters, money is hard to come by. I also feel that giving tidbits as and when I can won't help in the long run. I want these people housed and clean. I want to help them get back their identities and start them working to be self sufficient.
This is my first time doing something like this and the only thing I have to go on is this story I've heard of a great nation in the past. They gave charity so frequently to those on the streets, that one day there was no one on the streets for them to give charity to.
That is the kind of world I wish to live in, and as idealistic as it may seem, I believe it can happen through the unity of humanity. To pitch together and gove focused help to get one person off the street at a time. One person given a new life at a time.
That is my aim. I need your help.
