Recognize the Real is a free public community event highlighting loved ones released from Prison Incarceration whom are doing amazingly well in their individual lives, as well as, in their communities.

Understanding that there is stigma, a stereotype presently plaguing our communities and our minds regarding those released from Prison, we overstand the need for events such as this as we work on reversing the hypnosis regarding what communities have been taught to see and assume regarding those coming home from Prison.

As we collectively work on ending Mass Incarceration, we feel that it is important to not only work on releasing our loved ones from prison, to not only work on adjusting laws that keep so many of our loved ones unjustifiably behind prison walls, yet to also work just as diligently in adjusting the mindset regarding how one thinks and views our loved ones re-entering into our communities, our homes.
