The real cost of death

My friend has just lost his mother, she very sadly died from cancer. He works and so do the rest of his family, but they all have poorly paid jobs. This has left them in a bit of a financial crisis, as his mum could only save £1000 on her pension towards the cost of her funeral, they are £2300 short to pay for the cheapest burial. The really sad thing about this is, that his dad died when he was a child and they have a double plot enabling his mum to be reunited finally with her beloved husband, who was taken at 29 years old, but they have never even been able to pay for a headstone.

The option of a paupers funeral is just too awful to consider, if they were in receipt of benefits they could get some help. So please find it in your heart to help this hard working family bury their beloved, mother, sister, aunty and grandma. I do not know how they will pay for this funeral otherwise.
