The Plate

I am a 43 year old woman, who is newly divorced and a single mom of 4 kids. Life hasn't been easy for me, even getting basic needs for myself and my kids has been difficult. I pray that one day through the help of this organisation, I will be able to get funding, that will set me up to owning and running my own food store, that will one day get me my own home.

The Plate, aims on being a store that sells traditional Zulu food as well as home cooked meals. As a woman who has struggled myself, I realised that Universities need more stores that are affordable and that can cater for those kids who are less fortunate.

The Plate aims on starting at one University and move to the next. The Plate will be a food store that serves home food for those kids who are far away from home in their journey to becoming the best versions of themselves.

The Plate is not only a food store that will sell affordable traditional food, but it will be something that will be mine. Something that will help better the lives of my children and hopefully get me a home.
