The Plan It Earth Project is a group of compassionate people dedicated to setting up self-sustaining, environmentally friendly properties in strategic areas around the world.

Our aim is to uplift and empower communities in need, by creating employment opportunities and offering a variety of skills training.

These skills would include permaculture, basic carpentry, metal work, natural products, plants, compost. produce etc, depending on resouces available.

By working together with Nature, we can heal and overcome these most challenging times creating lasting changes for the Earth and for the benefit of all living things.

Our lives will change forever in so many ways and we will have the rare opportunity to transform our systems and how we do business.

It is possible for us to thrive and prosper by working harmoniously with Nature. The Plan It Earth Project can be set up and sustainable within a year, eventually creating considerable revenue and tourism.

The Plan It Earth Project

Introduction

In this new reality we must now embrace, it has become even more important for people to do things with conscience. More of us will recognize the benefit of working with the Earth and not against it. Our innovative spirit, ability to work together and adapt are what will bring us through these most challenging times.

Many places in the world will need all their ingenuity and real solutions to the problems that will result from the Covid 19 pandemic. Plan It Earth is a project that could work in any country offering a way for those most impacted to recover, learn and be productive again.

This is an expanding group of compassionate experts in their respective fields, who are willing to teach what they know and be a part of something of real value to our collective future.

Plan It Earth is a project dedicated to creating self-sustaining properties in strategic areas, that will uplift communities, create employment opportunities and offer a wide variety of skills training including permaculture, carpentry, customer service, hospitality and ultimately tourism as a means of revenue.

This is possibly the most crucial and exciting work that we can do at this time…or indeed ever, in the time we are given here on Earth.

The Concept

Suitable land in strategic areas would be selected for their abundance of natural resources and optimal location for future tourism. The properties would then be prepared and set up, employing local labor and using local materials wherever possible.

The chosen properties would be set up to be environmentally friendly, low maintenance and make use of all means of resource possible to become self-sustaining and eventually lucrative.

The initial set up would include a Main Building and Staff Quarters, ploughed and prepared land for growing vegetables and herbs and the parking area. The Main building will be The Plan It Earth Visitors Centre, Training rooms, Office, Kitchen and The Plan It Earth Shop.

The Staff Accommodation will initially be able to host the Manager, Caretaker, two Instructors, the Head Chef and Garden Master. Security would be in shifts and patrols coordinated with the local security company. Wherever possible we would rely on using a cashless system to minimize risk.

A Workshop for basic carpentry, metal work, mechanical repairs and maintenance of the property would also be constructed in another most suitable area on the land.

A security boom and guard house would be erected at the entrance to the property.

A temporary secure storage space will be allocated, near security, and set up for building materials etc.

Members of The Plan It Earth Project will all be contributing their ideas and expertise, working together to make this a thriving pioneer project model that can be adapted for any country that has this need.

We understand that in these difficult times people will need to do things differently and many will need to find new occupations. Each person has their own unique qualities and talents, and this is when we need them most.

Our Members are welcome to share anything, from their knowledge, advice, skills, services, vital contacts, contributions of equipment and building supplies to funding or contributions.

Every little bit of assistance supports the change we are making. By working together, we can do our best work now…to build something truly wonderful.

Donations and support from companies and organizations are vital in starting such a project and will be independently managed and strictly audited to ensure that the funds are going where they are intended to.

When Plan It Earth is up and running it will be making a profit and shares in this venture would be both rewarding for the pocket and for the Soul. The Plan It Earth Project is intended to be like powerful, ageless Tree that grows, while feeding all those who nurture and surround it.

Any Shares or investments would also be strictly managed and clear communication would be ensured with regular status updates and progress reports.

Social media updates on the progress, challenges and victories of The Plan It Earth Project are vital for our followers. These must be done by a passionate and dedicated Social Media Master who is able to visit the site often, take pictures and interview those contributors involved in the growth of the project.

These updates and ‘newsletters’ will be current and regular so that the public, and especially those who have contributed to the project, can see in real time how this concept is working. This project is an inspiration for us all and an education in itself, done with passion, for the right reasons. Be a part of something really worth doing!

Even though we are still currently on a lock down today here in South Africa, we have started this work on our own family property, intended to be a working example of this exciting and progressive concept. We must start with what we have, wherever we can.

Location

It is important to remember that this concept can work almost anywhere in the World. The land and available natural resources would determine what profitable crops, products and services could be viable.

Potential locations exist in every region of Southern Africa. The beauty and natural bounty of our land make most semi developed and developed areas ideal for The Plan It Earth Project. I have used Knysna, in South Africa and its surroundings in this example of The Plan It Earth concept;

Imagine 20 hectares of fertile, accessible land near, but not on the coast at a sufficient elevation, most importantly access to a river or reliable water source.

There are in fact many suitable pieces of land available and sitting idle, that could be set up for this purpose.

Metal furniture and items made from recycled, repurposed or local materials wherever possible.

Hemp products that can be made on site.

Plant Nursery and High-quality natural compost.

Free range eggs can also be used in prepared food and surplus sold to the public.

Prepared Foods would be wholesome and homemade including preserves, seasonings and sauces, special recipes made to order (Curries, Stews, Lasagna) Delivery options can be explored but prepared foods would initially be collected by the customer.

Tours in the area will allow us to train and offer experience to new guides that can educate visitors and locals about the area and its unique beauty. Picnics on the land could also be offered with social distancing in mind.

Training and Workshops would be provided free of charge for suitable applicants or at a greatly reduced rate by our Members and Experts. Plan It Earth would assist the Instructors wherever possible, with accommodation, travel and food.

Guest accommodation - Part of the training in carpentry and metal work would be aimed at constructing chalets for accommodating guests in future. These energy efficient ecofriendly guest chalets will be built into the natural landscape and are a further source of income for the project.

Advertising is being explored, eco-friendly innovative advertising can be arranged with Sponsors, Contributors, Stakeholders and Organizations who support Plan It Earth Project.

The possibilities for the ensuing growth and success of this project are immeasurable. Initially, The Plan It Earth Project will need a Director, Panel of Members, a very strict and competent Financial Wizard and Social Media fundi.

As soon as the property has been prepared, the Project would employ 6 people on a full-time basis, who would ideally live on site.

(These individuals will be those who are passionate and dedicated to ‘living their job’. Self-propelled, tireless Masters of their Skills, who are focused on the task at hand and ready to help with anything that is needed. A love of Nature and People, Tenacity, ingenuity and the ability to work together are imperative qualities that this group must possess to ensure the success of this project.

If possible, these permanent staff should be stakeholders or receive some share in the eventual profit which adds incentive to work harder and enhances loyalty.

All work done in the preparation of the property would be locally sourced wherever possible to empower, uplift and support the local community.

Opportunities for work and training will also be made available to residents of the area. We want to encourage people to get involved and be a part of making something that gives back.

The local community will benefit directly and indirectly from this project, seeing in real time what a difference can be made when we work together for the better of all.

As the need arise more people will be employed;

3 builders (payment per project by arrangement)

2 gardeners (part time then full time as needed)

2 Kitchen Hands for preparation and packaging (part time then full time as needed)

The chosen candidates for these positions will be enthusiastic and willing to learn. They will potentially become Instructors at Visitors Centre depending on their skills and aspirations. Either way they will be prepared and given the training and necessary skills to progress in creating their own business.

1 Full time security guard may be necessary as the project grows. Relief for this guard may be outsourced or sponsored by a local security company.

What we need…

Even though this project will initially require support, donations, contributions and significant investment, it is far from a nonprofit venture. On the contrary, it is intended to become self-sustainable within the first year and eventually will yield a profit which will be reinvested or eventually paid out to investors by prior arrangement. We intend to pay it back and forward.

The cost of such a project would be relatively inexpensive to set up in comparison to what it would accomplish. The desired property could be prepared and functioning within its first year.

Venture...

There are a number of ways that Organizations, Industries and Individuals can contribute to The Plan It Earth Project. As the project unfolds different assistance will be needed and welcomed from anyone and any sector.

Initially, the funds for the property, construction and running costs will be the most crucial.

A property could be donated for this purpose and any buildings existing on the land could easily be incorporated into the design of the project. Local labor and materials would be used to uplift the economy.

Expertise, assistance and advice on the architecture, construction and the optimal use of the property.

The funding for the preparation of farming land and irrigation.

Startup seeds and compost for the first year.

Salaries for the full-time staff who live on site would be adequate, but humble, as shares in the Project would ideally be arranged for incentive as previously mentioned.

The part time staff would not live on the property and ideally would be employed as the need inevitably arises. All costing and allocation of funds would be assessed and approved by the Project Watchdog according to the agreed business plan and regulations.

A New Reality

In our changed world it will be even more important for us to work together, but at a safe distance. The Plan It Earth Project allows for social distancing while being productive, and enhances the message and practice of any and all hygiene regulations.
