The person with a heart of gold

Hi everybody, my name is Brian Wentworth and this letter will explain the reasons for this campaign.

The special person in question is Charlene du Plooy. It is my opinion that she is a person worthy of all or any extra help possible. I am a personal friend of hers and have known her for about 10 years.

She ''specialises'' in putting others less fortunate before her own well being. What Charlene does would shame most of us due to the fact that she always reaches out to the less fortunate by means of assisting with food, money or personal possessions . I do help where I can but I can only do so much.

Charlene's aim is to start her own non profit organisation to do just this, help others selflessly regardless of personal circumstances or challenges she faces on a daily basis.

Sadly she is epileptic, her condition has been diagnosed as Grand mal A+ and she is of the notion that she is blessed compared to other people in dire straits. As many of us know, this stage of epilepsy is considered the most severe and devastating. As a result of this Charlene cannot work, drive a car, work or do many of the simple things we take for granted in life

One never knows when her next seizure is due, one second she seems fine and the next thing you know she collapses and has a fit of epic proportions that scares the heck out of most people to say the least.

The problem is that she receives a grant from the government that barely covers her medical expenses and the general cost of living. The monthly trip to the the clinic is helpful but her medication is expensive and she does not receive all, meaning she has to rely on her repeat prescription and she has to buy her medication herself.

Her expenses include the medication, rent, food and the help of a care giver as I cannot be with her 24 hours a day. All this adds up to amounts which her grant alone simply cannot cover. Personally I have never seen an individual who is so compassionate about helping people, refusing to let her condition rule her life.

I truly admire her drive regardless of her personal situation, medically or financially.

If there is anybody who can find it in their hearts to help Charlene in her plight and if I might say, her desire to give all she can give and more, it will truly make a huge difference in her life and the lives of others.

Any organisation or individual willing to assist in any way, be it donations or products pertaining to her cause would really be appreciated, no matter how big or small.

I thank you for taking the time to read this letter in getting a better understanding with regard to the challenges she faces on a daily basis.

Please feel free to contact me via my cell 0796093659 or email; [email protected] should you have any questions or comments.

Regards

Brian Wentworth
