The Mitre 10 Round Te Puke Walkathon is a fundraising 27 hour walk around Te Puke. Organised by Te Puke MASEA High School Students to raise money for the Te Puke Community Fire Brigade and their own Overseas Educational Adventure. 10 students will combine to walk for 27 hours and 135kms.
We’ve set a goal! 135kms over 27 hours, that’s 5kms every hour.
Seems easy huh!
Each student will walk at least 55kms in relay fashion, walking in groups of 3-4 for 3 hours at a time. That’s 11 hours of walking per student over 27 hours. All of the students will stay on the main field at Te Puke High School for the duration of the 27 hours, supporting their mates. Members of the Te Puke Community Fire Brigade will accompany the students on their walk and support with their fire trucks and regalia.
It’s a challenging goal and each of our students needs support. Whether it is from family and friends, or from local businesses and organisations, our goal is to make this a community event raising money for our community fire brigade and students overseas educational adventure.
It’s a race against time, a challenge of endurance and will power.
Cheer them on. Sponsor today.
