The Merckx Project is my attempt to experience the 'Hour Record.' The hour record is a bicycling fete where a rider pedals their bicycle around a velodrome for 60 minutes, trying to cover as much distance as possible. In 1972, Eddy Merckx rode a distance of 30.715 miles. For me the challenge is to experience something that so few other have. I wanted to do something relatively unique, that few in the world have attempted, and that certainly even fewer in my social networks could claim.

Your donations will help cover equipment costs, track time rental, various sanctioning fees associated with the event, and other associated costs.

Visit the project blog and Twitter page for more details.
