The Mariner & Ocean, Exhibition

Dear Friends, I have recieved the honour to present a solo exhibition of my project "The Mariner and the ocean in the National Croatian Maritime Museum In Split in june 2019." Fascinated by the numbers of living mariners in the world today- and the fact most people do not know what the do or where they go .For this project the duration of one year- I had corresponded with 4 living mariners- A lady seaman aboard a cruise ship, a chief officer on the oil Platforms, a Captain of the chemical ship, and a Chief Engineer on a bulk ship. I collected the fascinating stories as they happened, photographs from the lives of the mariners, and will now produce 4 X 3.5 meter x1.5m panoramic paintings of the view from the ship, 4X 130x100 oil mix media portraits of the mariners, and 30 smaller oil painting for the stories, ships and exotic places the mariners visited. The exhibition will be a view into the lives of the 4 mariners- and reveal how even today these people live lives no less exciting than the explorer captains of old. The museum has no finances for the project, all donationes here given will be used to fund the materials I will create painings with. And shall I collect enough funds- my intention is to publish a small book about the lives of the contemporary merchant mariners- with paintings from he show, a preface form the museum director, and the very stories of the mariners.
