Dearly beloved Ukulele student’s, friends and family,
I have been a musician all my life, it's part of me and always will be. My Mother, Robina Dallmeyer was a concert Clarinetist and she spotted my potential and sent me off to the Royal Academy of Music at a very tender age. As I got older my passion for writing and performing took shape, but the music industry is a tough nut to crack and while I will always be able to sing for my supper I have discovered a talent that I had not fully appreciated before. Teaching is something my Mother practiced with great skill. She transformed the lives of so many through her gift of music. I have been teaching ukulele for a couple of years now and I would like to take it to the next level and build the foundations of a real business. As my loyal and much loved very first customers, (and closest friends and family) I am seeking your investment in my business so that I can continue teaching, developing the quality of the lessons and be able to reach more people seeking the joys of learning to play an instrument by passing on the baton I was given by my Mother.
THE PLAN:
THE COURSES:
Courses to be run in Kensal Rise, Chelsea and, to be confirmed, somewhere in Central London and will be starting up again at the end of January 2016.
4 week absolute beginners.
10 week beginners - intermediate.
10 week intermediate - advanced.
- Testimonials
"Claire's ukulele club is the most fun thing
that happens in my week. She has the most delightful manner and is very
musical, too. I've been on other ukulele courses but this is the best one." - Sally Ann Lasson.
"Claire is a very engaging and very unique person. She is an extremely talented musician and knows exactly how to fill her students' minds with enthusiasm and courage - albeit we are at different levels of knowledge and accomplishment.. Somehow Claire has the gift of being able to pull us all together - playing and singing ukulele songs we never thought we'd be able to - with a lot of fun and laughter on the way. I personally I cannot recommend her classes more highly. I have been attending now for nearly a year and it's changed my life - is the highlight of my week." - Fiona Sandilands
"Claire Nicolson is expert at what she does - turning complete beginners into dedicated ukulele strummers. A wonderful musician, an inspiring teacher, an all-round terrific person." - Marcy Kahan
"Claire is a genius teacher - so patient when our mangled efforts at chords and timing would make a lesser teacher throw us all out. Not only that, but she encourages us to make even more of a mess of things!" Ian Strathcarron
"I like the friendly atmosphere, the chance to learn in an easy going way, to sing and play what you enjoy and the fact that there is usually a performance at the end. Great leader too, of course!" - Jill Schrodel.
THANK YOU!
As a thank you for your ongoing support I have listed a number of pledges. Every single pledge no matter how big or small will help me get closer to spreading the Ukulele love to more and more people in London.
Also as a thank you to you I am going to be putting on a free ukulele jam at The Red Lemon, All Saints Rd, London. W11 on 13th December. Really hope you can make it! I'd love to see you. Even if you don't want to play come and have a laugh and a sing song anyway. Wear a Xmas hat! Thank you.
