My name is Vlad Manturov. I am desperately trying to find help for my son Igor.
Most children can grab, crawl, turn over, stand up and walk from an early age. These are reflexes and instincts Brain sends impulses responsible for reflex movements. You children learned to use spoon in a month.
My son is 10 years old now and he still needs to learn a lot of simple things such as sitting up, holding a spoon and talking. After years of exploring various exercises and learning programs we finally found something that gives a chance even to the hopeless. We have a shot at a series of intense therapy sessions at Vojta Therapy Center in Germany. I am asking for your help to pay for the treatment that starts in August 2017.
Only with your help our child could get on his feet or at least learn the most simple and necessary life skills.
By August we need to find an unthinkable for our family sum of $3000 that includes $1700 for treatment and stay in Siegen and $1300 for airfare.
Donation as small as $20 can go a very long way.
Igor was born in July 2006. Igor's first few weeks everything looked fine, but soon we began noticing problems in the baby's development. His eyes often moved out of sync, he looked weak and slow. Weeks of tests resulted in the sentence: our son had cerebral palsy, brain injury. They said this was due to a hidden birth injury but we will never find out if it's true or not. The news was devastating but we knew we are always going to stand by our boy and never give up.
If you’re still reading this and wonder, what the hell is that Vojta therapy, you can find a short description by one of NYC professionals here:
https://nydnrehab.com/what-we-treat/neurological-c...
During 8 days that we spent at the clinic in 2016 we learned three entry level exercises. There are dozens of them and we need to learn and apply all of them for the therapy to be effective.
The reason we chose to seek treatment outside Russia is because the method is not approved by Russian Health Ministry, hence, there are no therapists in Russia who practice it legally. Siegen, Germany, was a natural choice since there is a specialized center for Vojta therapy run by Red Cross.
Our child may not be in immediate mortal danger but Igor still needs urgent therapy. Otherwise the biological window will close and he will never be able learn essential life skills. If we don’t act now Igor will be condemned to forever remaining helpless and vulnerable, face to face with this unforgiving world. This could be worse than death.
It is only natural to expect a visible result of your donation. Unfortunately, in Igor’s condition there are no sudden breakthroughs. Even the smallest improvement requires a struggle. You would think nothing about a child raising a hand and grabbing a horizontal bar. For Igor and us it was the highlight of the year 2016. Disappointing as they may seem to you, the small improvements in Igor’s condition helped by your donations are HUGE for us. I promise to keep you updated about them.
If you want to become a part of Igor’s life, please, tell your friends about him. Pray for him and wish him recovery.
We thank you with all our hearts for fighting with us!!

Our boy survived two flights of 4 and 10 hours, the trip from New York to Philadelphia and all the layovers in between. We are grateful to all the people who. . . . .
