Homelessness in Houston has become just as prevalent and evident as any other major city in the country and is growing at a rapid, seemingly unending pace. And like those cities, a very visible part of the homeless population is made up of men and women recently released from incarceration who have yet to secure the necessary help to take full advantage of the God given opportunity to make a fresh start of their lives. At "The Lighthouse", a transitional home for male parolees, we hope to be that bridge that leads individuals from down-and-out and despair to stability and success. With the help of a strong and stable support system, men will find room/board, employment assistance and a positive in-house support group, all under one roof. Our goal at "The Lighthouse" is to eliminate the possibilities of these men returning to crime and/or incarceration by providing necessary tools for positive, healthy living, while battling recidivism and homelessness. We pray and plan to open our doors by Christmas of 2014 to those men ready to right their wrongs and reboot their lives with passion and purpose. The past is the past - let's leave it there. Enough has already been lost. Please assist "The Lighthouse" in helping men find their way back.
