Leelah Alcorn was a 17 year old transgender girl who committed suicide on December 29th, 2014. Her parents were unsupportive of her gender identity and the lack of support drove Leelah to suicide.  The Leelah Project was started to help people like Leelah receive the support and necessities they need in order to live a fulfilling life expressing themselves in a way that makes them comfortable. The organisation is a nonprofit cause that supplies clothes and other miscellaneous necessities for those who need them. We also provide discreet packaging for those who request it. They accept monetary donations as well as package donation, which you can provide via the PayPal or debit card here. Unwanted clothes, unused make-up, accessories, toiletries, and other miscellaneous items as donations are also greatfully recieved, and you can send these packages to Indigo's home address - just get in touch with her on her Facebook, here https://www.facebook.com/iggywilde for her address. Packages, and donation, can consist as little or as much as you want or can manage. Everything is worthwhile, and really really really really valuable. In her suicide note, she asked that the items she legally owned, including her money, were given to trans civil rights movements and support groups. She said, "My death needs to mean something", and that everything she owned was to go to organisations and charities set up to aid and support trans people. Her parents denied her this last wish, and so the Leelah Project is a direct resistive response to the consistent acts of injustice and violence Leelah, and many other trans folk, suffer under every single day. The Leelah Project has a Facebook page and a Twitter account if you want to support them by following our pages. You can also send them an e-mail at [email protected]! Rest in power, Leelah. x x x x
