Hello everyone! Thank you for taking your time to visit this page!

My name is Yoselyn Manzano and I would like to ask you to give a little of what you have to those who do not have as much.

As many of my friends know it has always been my dream to work for a meaningful cause and to make a true impact that can change people's lives. Back home in Panama I was always excited to be a part of any campaign or project that would let me get involved, whether it would be recollecting school materials or organizing fun activities for the kids, in the end the feeling was always the same. I was always incredibly happy and filled with gratitude for the opportunity to connect with the most wonderful people.

Now an opportunity has come my way to follow my dream all the way to UGANDA! I am teaming up with The Nation Foundation ( https://nation-foundation.org) to work as a volunteer in the Kikaaya College School project. I am all set for my trip to Uganda, and after a few vaccines am ready to go meet my students. I will be spending my time with them discussing the fundamentals of human rights, from what rights do they have as children to what they can do to guarantee the protection of these rights.

So I thought I might share this amazing opportunity with YOU to make something truly special. The idea of the project is very simple: every CHILD should have access to QUALITY EDUCATION regardless of their circumstances or where they come from.

Now I think you should know a little more about Uganda and why your help is so important.

Uganda is a country in East Africa that became independent from Britain on 9 october 1962. Since then the country has been marked by intermittent conflicts, including a civil war against the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) that took away the lives of hundreds of thousands, many of them children forced to become child soldiers.

Currently Uganda is the host country of many people that have fled from their countries due to extreme violence and shortages of food.Uganda, one of the poorest countries of the world, is the largest refugee-hosting country in Africa and one of the largest in the world, hosting over 1 million refugees from South Sudan, 230,358 from Democratic Republic of Congo and 39,289 from Burundi( https://www.unicef.org/).

Lets go over some facts:

  • 52% of Ugandan citizens are unemployed (Trading Economics)
  • In 2015 660,000 children were orphans due to AIDS (UNAIDS)
  • 39% of Uganda youth are not enrolled in high school (Nation Master)

Now YOU can make a difference for the children of UGANDA, a little help goes a long way and for JUST $80 you can give a child the opportunity to access to EDUCATION by covering the expenses for scholastic materials, food, room & board, uniform and school fees for ONE YEAR!

The contributions will go to The Nation Foundation, a non-profit and non-governmental organization that allocates 100% of the donations to the multiple projects aimed to provide a quality education and equal opportunities for every child. You may find more information about the current projects here: https://nation-foundation.org/what-we-do/

Please be part of this amazing opportunity to do something meaningful, you can give as much as you want, TOGETHER we can make a positive impact in the lives of these children.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME!
