The Jays go to Washington

My name is Brittani, I am a single mother to "the jays" Jamison, age 8, and Jayda age 5, we live in Everett, Wa a suburb of Seattle. I am a full time working mom, working 32 hours a week as a medical exam coordinator, I also volunteer once a week in each of their schools. My children are my world. They are incredible. They are the smartest, funniest, kindest, most talented kids I know, but above all that they are troopers. Life hasn't been easy for them, they have it better than most but they've been through a lot in their short life's. I was a teen mom to both kids, I finally separated from their father and the three of us share our cozy apartment together. We spend our time off from work and school playing sports, going to the library, watching local plays, and every Monday night we have "documentary Monday" where we snuggle in the living room, and pick a documentary to watch. I love learning and if I could pass any trait onto my children it would be that. They already have a natural passion to go, seek, and explore. Which brings me to this fundraiser. My son has developed a strong interest in politics over the last year and half (yes he's 8, yes I know) I would love to take my kids to Washington DC this summer, we have read so much about past and current presidents, they have seen countless documentaries on our nations capital, this would be a wonderful family memory to give them. I am trying to save up money to take them at the end of July. I have done research and decided we could stay in a hostel to save so much money (as opposed to hotel) but the airline tickets are just so expensive since we're on the opposite side of the country, any donation amount will help, and I realize this isn't a life saving, medically necessary, tragic event fundraiser, this is just two kids who would love the chance to visit a place their passionate about, and we would be so thankful if you could help us get there.
