Campaign Story
Project Description
The Ice Mitt is almost in the production phase but is just lacking funding. The design and production process is finalized, but in order to move on with making large quantities to get on the market I need a little help. If I can raise 10,000 dollars, I can buy the material for 5,000 Ice Mitts, pay for production costs, and assembly costs. Most of the cost comes down to machining the plastic and assembling. I am going to send the Ice Mitts to the ARC, which is the Association for Retarded Citizens, and there they will assemble them. This will cost a little bit more than having myself assemble them, but this will help fund the ARC and helps them give back to their society. After all this is accomplished, I will be ready to get this product on the market and help all those athletes, physical therapy patients, and more.
Benefits
I am an endurance athlete that constantly needs maintenance on my body and I created this product because the current ice therapy methods were not comfortable and effective for me. Ice therapy is extremely important when it comes to health and recovery. Ice massage therapy relieves pain, increases blood flow, and has many more beneficial effects. The Ice mitt improves ice therapy compared to other products on the market because it has a barrier from your hand to the ice, gives you more area for massaging, has a comfortable strap, and is reusable. Nobody likes being injured whether it is a torn ACL at during a football game or knee surgery with rehab, but best way of recovery is ice massage therapy. By offering an ice massage that is more effective and more comfortable, that means the ice mitt can get athletes back to performing at high levels quickly and the physical therapy patients back to their normal day to day life.

Risks and challenges
There have been many risks when it came to creating and designing this product. One big risk was paying for all the start up costs. These include the patent pending file, materials for testing, and time. As a full time athlete and student, I barely have time to make a sandwich for lunch in the morning. Once I figured out the manufacturing process and assembly process for the final prototype, everything became much easier. Now I have a product that can be shown to people and tested.
