The Hockenberry Family Emergency Rental Fund

I am a disabled veteran and my wife is on disability who is awaiting hip replacement surgery. In her current situation she is unable to get out of the house or get around the house very well. Our landlord is selling the home we currently rent from them due to health issues and we need to find another place to rent within our monthly budget which is hard enough in itself, let alone the process of moving to a new location.

Due to medical bills outside of our Medicare insurance, we had to file for a Chapter 13 bankruptcy and we lost our home to foreclosure. When we moved into our current location we were hoping to stay at least three to four years to get back on our feet. That being the situation, we haven’t been able to save up enough money to move or be able to afford the first/last/and the security deposit that is required to move into a new place.

I’ve always made it a priority in life to be able to take care and provide for my family on my own, and it pains me to have to ask help from anybody. As the situation dictates for the benefit of my family, I am asking for help so that they are not left homeless by the circumstances presented to us.
