We are simply a small scooter club The Hill Of The Ravens Scooter Club based in various places around West Lothian and Clackmannanshire, we have 3 Charity Motivated Ride Outs each year (so far).

Easter is our 1st where we deliver to places like Ex servicemen and women who prefer to live independently.

Then we drop off at Women’s Refuge then our local hospital giving to the Children’s, Oncology and Mental Health ward’s.

Then we drop off at nursing homes, then onto funded housing for ex miners who wish to live independently. We then head off Larbert and Forth Valley hospital to do it all again.

The residents of the independent living quarters are more acceptable to the 30 minutes of conversation with complete strangers, most of who have also served, I think they get more out of it than the kids.

Our next run is our Christmas run, we collect fresh poultry, vegetables, trimmings and something to do as a sweet. We set the collection out to access the amount of people in that particular household, these donations are put out to the first 50 needy people or families to respond, where last year we covered only 50 families, single parent families, unemployed, disabled, and of course the elderly, I recall last Christmas, one certain elderly lady who had applied but never really expected anyone to actually turn up to help, so she stood at the front door and burst into tears, this made us feel truly uncomfortable as we didn’t expect to make anyone sad or upset, and she said to my wife that due to the size of the Turkey, she could save some for the New Year, Melanie explained that she wouldn’t have to worry about New Year as we would return on Hogmanay with another bag, and that’s exactly what we did, with an apology for upsetting her and a small bunch of flowers.

This year we don’t want to miss our visits to the children's wards and maybe give a gift to the families who feel the need to ask for help.

We therefore this Christmas and New Year, to raise enough money to purchase some Soft Toys and games for both Childrens ward’s and supply gifts to the other children., this has been an ongoing thing for the last couple of years and it’s something we plan on doing every year in I can keep the scooter club running.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank you for taking the time to read my request and we wait eagerly for your response

It’s a simple case of what you see is what you get. Don’t ask the question if you don’t want to hear the truth. Take me as I am or don’t.
