The Hello World Initiative

After the sad passing of the last Nelson Mandela, I took it upon my self to tackle one of the millenium Development Goals he was working on which is Education. Would you believe that here in South Africa, there are still millions of people that are still computer illiterate, there are still people that do not know what a computer is, or how it works, this then affects their development as people because they dont get opportunities because they are all posted on the internet whereas these people have never seen a computer in their life. 

So what I want to do is start a company that produces low cost computers (running on open source software) so that these people can also get access to the digital age, so that they will not be left behind. and in so doing, I will be creating jobs for thousands of these impoverished people. 

We will also have drives where we go to schools and teach the children and young adults the basics of using a computer, train them in also using the internet and also the basics like typing. 

This will greatly close down the digital divide. together, it is our responsibility as human beings to help those less fortunate than us. if animals can do it, why cant we?
