Campaign Story
The Growing Nerds is an initiative that aims at making difference in the school of Sitiyweni SPS, which is at Matatiele in Eastern Cape rural areas in reading and writing, mainly focusing in the foundation phase. Each grade 6 and 7 learner will be assigned to grade 1-3 leaner(s). They will spend 45 minutes, Monday to Thursday reading for them, reading with them and giving them a chance to read on their own. Reading is a skill, it needs patience, it takes time and gets better with practice. An early literacy development mainly focus on language but they will be also doing Mathematics and playing the leaning games such the puzzles and the dice. The evaluation or assessment of the programme can be done per term.
