Who is KU Studios

KU Studios is a non profit (501c-3) organization that provides a safe stage for children and teens –ages 3-18  through the performing arts. Established in 1986, our unique program provides theatrical training resulting in successful and self confident children and teens.

What is “The Green Recital-2013”:

We, like so many other American families, are struggling in this economy. When it was time to begin planning our yearly Recital, we decided to look for ways to save all of our KU families costume expenses. So “The Green Recital” was born.  We are repurposing, reusing and recycling the many costumes, accessories and props we have acquired over the years.  Thus saving our hard working families money, while keeping true to the high standard our families and fans have come to expect from our productions.

Where would your donation go?

There are many expenses when bringing a production of this caliber to the stage. The expense of renting the theater and additional lighting exceed the donations  we allocate for our production.   We have many volunteers who need to be fed throughout our “tech” week, and a snack bar to stock for our students and their families.  There are cleaning expenses for the costumes we are using both before and after the recital, along with some alterations and some construction for additional costume pieces, props and accessories. Fees for sound and lighting engineers and others in key positions are a necessary part of a professional show. We are also trying to eliminate paper at the studio in conjunction with this. We have many families who do not have access to a computer on a regular basis, so we would like to buy a coputer for the lobby that parents could use to fill out forms online.

A Very Special Gift

We would like to be able to give tickets to some of the many deserving children and families, who would not be otherwise able to attend such a great show.  Through our work we perform at many charitable events and go to many places to perform for needy children and families. Your donations would help to fund our efforts, and fill the seats in the theater!
