The Greater Manchester Marathon 2013

I have recently come back from a trip from Africa where I saw some amazing and beautiful things but one thing that I did see was the extreme poverty and lack of opportunities for the people, especially the children.   

So I have decided to run the Greater Manchester marathon, 26.2 miles of pure unadulterated  pain and raise as much money as possible for the All out Africa foundation.  The aim of the Children's Fund is to provide sustained finance for the long term support of vulnerable children in the areas where All Out Africa works.  It will generally make a big difference to the lives of these kids. I have met and seen some of the volunteers, which inspired me to run this marathon and all the money will go to the right place. You will not only be supporting me get through mile by mile, you will also be supporting a great organisation that makes and changes lives for the better.

The money we raise will help with Medical supplies as this area has one of the highest rates of HIV in the world.  It will also help pay for school supplies, water and sanitation and many other things.

I have just completed the Greater Manchester Marathon in 4 hours and 11 minutes, I gave everything I had, I collapsed with 200 meters to go and with the will of the crowd got back up to run the last few meters. The atmosphere was electric and my friends and family really did get me through, by far the hardest thing I have ever done. Again all the people who supported me and donated, a massive thank you and a special mention to Bryar Hawkins who inspired me to do this, who is wise beyond her years, with everyones support we have raised well over a £1000 for the all out africa foundation and the money keeps coming in.
