The Grass originally formed in 1978 at Homewood School, Tenterden. They went by various names but finally changed their name to The Grass in 1982, gigged around Kent in 1983, and finally broke up in early '84. Now, 30 years later, The Grass have decided to pull out all the stops and get together for a reunion show sometime in 2014. However, since Alastair, (lead vox/lead guitar) lives in London, Nigel (bass/rhythm guitar/vocals) lives in Dumfries, Scotalnd, and Jeff (drums/vocals) lives in Tenterden, rehearsal is almost impossible. We've been sharing files on Dropbox, Jeff's bought himself a drum machine, but Jeff really needs an actual drum kit. Whether it will be a regular drum kit or one of the portable sets such as a Pearl Rhythm Traveler or a Traps A400, or an electronic kit remains to be seen.
What we'd like to do is raise funds for a drum kit, travel expenses (so we can actually go and jam with each other), rehearsal rooms and other sundries.
Why You Should Help
We'd like people to get involved so that we can give ourselves the best chance at pulling off a fantastic show that we can, and to let our friends, fans and family see something very special.
Please, if you'd like to help a trio of old hacks have another moment under the spotlight, give what you can to bring this dream to fruition. Thank you.
