The girl that wants an education!

So where do I start... Hi first of all! I'm a bubbly, hardworking self sufficient 23 year old who has been extremely unlucky with my health/ education.

This began when I went to college and was unsure on what I was going to do with my life (like most confused 17 year olds) however the one thing I knew I was good at was makeup and special FX.

At the time my mother was poorly and so I left college to look after her. After leaving college sadly I never went back to education due to the cost of further education and found myself in full time work trying to pay for my overheads.

The only problem was I got stuck in an industry that isn't for me and I'm still here 5 years later. However this isn't and wasn't the problem... the problem was every time I saved enough money to start investing In the future/education I wanted ...I got sick.

4 years ago fresh in the sales industry I got struck down twice with a heart condition called SVT, causing me to have complications after. Due to time off work, the money I had saved quickly went on my rent and bills.

3 years ago I went to work on a Saturday just to make a bit of extra money to put aside (my normal days are Monday - Friday) however within an hour of going into work and feeling sick... I was suddenly bed ridden, blurred vision, migraine, raging fever and extreme pain in my neck/spine. I got quickly rushed into isolation at hospital to find out I had been diagnosed with bacterial meningitus. This was the scariest time of my life. For what seemed like weeks they couldn't control my symptoms and were concerned about response to the medication. Finally they found the correct medications and after a long couple of weeks my body started to respond, however with this critical illness again came a lot of time off work with bills to pay.

For a while nothing happened after the bacterial meningitis apart from continuous migraines and building up my immune system again. However I was playing catch up with bills and over due payments.

Fast forward to a year and a half later and sure enough I get struck down with another hospital bound illness called quinsy I couldn't breath my oxygen levels were low and I had a fever of 40 which meant more time off work and savings leaving my account again.

Since then I have (touch wood) been much better with no complaints and healthy! However due to all of this craziness I had to let my dreams to study slip for a while when my bank account was in the minus,

My dream is to work in TV and Film as a makeup artist and special FX artist. I've already started running my own business in bridal makeup and have the connections in the industry however to get that far I need to study in prosthetics and Special FX.

I don't think anyone will understand just how hungry I am to study and how much this will change my exsitance and finally give me a future that's bright and something I can look forward to after what seems to be a crazy unlucky run of a events.

I'm so fortunate to be alive and count my lucky stars that I'm still here as I know my friends I made in hospital didn't have the same eventuality, for this reason alone I know how life changing studying would be for me and would feel so unbelievably fortunate if I had the oppourthnity to.
