Support me in building The Gatekeepers: a wellness container, offering support for women and children in their quest to build a brighter future. In donating, you’d be extending holistic wellness and socioeconomic betterment to women in Egypt, both local and refugee.

How The Gatekeepers will work:

Offer support for women: maidens and mothers alike. The Golden Lotus is multidimensional and offers both energy and physical healing modalities. In the city, workshops, circles and group meetings will be held. As a caravan, The Gatekeepers will work to document recipes from women across Egypt (as a way of preserving heritage!) and cookbooks will be created to generate income.

Offer support for children: educational systems have been struggling to get out of the industrial revolution - they're outdated! Child-led play and parenting will be encouraged and demonstrated. ALL events are inclusive (children are welcomed and engaged throughout!) In fact, there is a lot to learn from observing children and how they do everything with wonder. Choose wonder, always, and follow the child's lead. Envisioned is a lot of painting, drawing and messy play!

Offer support for men: capitalism, it feels, has left men feeling more like machines than human beings. The Gatekeepers aims to help men remember. Feelings are welcomed and expression supported.

The Gatekeepers will be a sister entity to Canopy, a community built around trees in Siwa, Egypt.

About me:

I hold an MA in Economics in International Development and I am a mother who has experienced, first-hand, what it is like to be in absence of the “village” as a new mother and a mother to a young child. I have long aspired to work on making the world a better place and I believe that women are gatekeepers to the betterment of the future. Women are the key to investments in human capital. Your help would go into me receiving my Golden Lotus training (online tuition, travel to Indonesia) and to set up the businesst. It would also go into connecting the Gatekeepers to Canopy (Egypt) as one whole and holistic entity.
