My name is OBIZA Oumayma, I am 19 years old and I’m a Moroccan girl from a small town in the North East of Morocco called Taza, and this is my story.
Getting my baccalaureate degree with a major in Physics, I was rejected from all the universities I applied to.
Not having much choice, I decided to not give up and to even challenge myself. I then integrated the private preparatory classes in Meknes in the Economics and Commercial Scientific field; basically it’s a French post-secondary education system that is based on the preparation for the competitive entrance examinations to either Moroccan (for Moroccan students) or French (for the international ones) business schools.
It’s true that switching from a scientific major to an economic one was a risky move and at the beginning I had to overcome so many difficulties in order to fit in but I have never regretted taking that risk because it led up to the best two years in my whole life. During that time, I found out that I was so passionate about everything related to economy, management and finance. I finally discovered my passion and my interests and I knew what I want to do in the future.
With the combination of the hard work, the help of my teachers and the orientation of the Director, I managed to make up the lessons that I missed earlier during high school. And I even managed to become the first in my class during the two years.
With the encouragement of my family and my teachers, I decided to apply to the Top French Business Schools. So after tons of sleepless nights, crying sessions and endless math exercises, geopolitics and economy essays, the hard work finally paid off and I was accepted in two of the top 10 Business Schools in France : Skema BS and Kedge BS.
When seeing my dreams getting closer to what seemed a reality, I didn’t hesitate to join the second School (Kedge BS) thinking that the student loan I am going to take is going to cover up the tuition fees, room and board.
Unfortunately, the bank reached out to me yesterday to tell me that I can’t get the loan since I don’t have a guarantor that lives in the French territory.
Getting to go to one of the best Business School in France is for me a dream come true, it is the step that’s going to open up for me the door to many opportunities.
As the great lady Eleanor ROOSEVELT has said “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”. And I am someone who strongly believes in the beauty of its dream, that’s why I decided to not give up on my dreams, no not today, and in order to do that, I would like to ask for your help.
With all that said, I’d like to thank you firstly for the time you sacrifice to read my story and I kindly want to ask for your financial help and/or your moral support .
