The Friends Worth Saving Foundation

The Friends Worth Saving Foundation was created on August 31, 2013 by Brett Cohen in order to bring awareness to all about the dolphin slaughters that occur in Taiji, Japan, as well as the captivity of these mammals. He is actively working with many organizations, including Earth Island Institute and Ric O'Barry's The Dolphin Project to bring attention to this matter. 

The first, single-handedly most important part of this cause is to educate yourself on the situation.  You can do this by seeing the Academy Award Winning documentary "The Cove".  If anybody can educate you the best on this matter, Ric O'Barry is the man to do this.  And he does just that in "The Cove".  You will be not only hearing what Ric has to say, but you will see what goes on in Japan through a series of hidden cameras throughout the cove.  Please visit these links, and then return to this fundraising site:

With a better understanding of what is going on, we can end this.  Its not impossible.  We are making progress.  The people of Taiji are responding positively.  It is only a small group that is involved in this.  They are killing over 23,000 dolphins every year, beginning today, September 1st. 

The fundraising is soley to purchase copies of "The Cove" to distribute during an educational event in Doylestown, PA that will be held this month.  The date of this will be set once the paperwork is filed. It will be a small informative stand with a big message.  You will be able to donate, email a petition right from the booth to world leaders, purchase Ric O'Barry's book "Behind The Dolphin Smile", and learn how to help on your own.  You can keep up with the fundraiser at WWW.FRIENDSWORTHSAVING.WORDPRESS.COM, soon to be WWW.FRIENDSWORTHSAVING.COM.  The site is still being developed, but the homepage will always keep you updated.  Please help by donating as little or as much as you would like.  The fundraising company www.gogetfunding.com is a verified company that partners with Facebook to allow donations for causes.
