Freddy's Cathouse Charity is a small charity on the island of Lanzarote operating in the area of Playa Blanca. The charity feeds and takes care of around 350 feral cats every day which means we need to purchase around 250kgs of dry food every month, as well as operating a neutering program (TNR).
Due to the fine reputation the charity has gained for the work we do, we are constantly being asked to spread further afield to other parts of the island to help with sick and injured cats and with litters of kittens that have been dumped in bins.
Owing to the high population of feral cats on the island the charity is now in desperate need of a rescue shelter to act as a place of safety for sick and injured cats and kittens, and for older cats that are in constant need of medical treatment and also to act as a fostering and rehoming center.
The charity is run by volunteers and relies solely on voluntary donations so are seeking help to fund this much needed property which the charity envisions would also become a visitor attraction for tourists as well as cat friends with a little shop and a catcafe and possibly a separate apartment which could be let out longterm to generate an income.
You can learn more about the charity and the work they do by looking at the website www.freddyscathouse.weebly.com or following the facebook page which is updated daily.
Thank you for your compassion.
