The First Step

Hi everyone! I'm Alicia. I am currently a freshman at UC Davis in California. I am inspired to be a veterinarian.

My goal is to be able to spend a week in Seattle, Washington with a very important person. He has been my ultimately closest friend for a solid six years (since I was 12). Unfortunately, we were born on different sides of the country, him the east and me the west. We met on an online chat site! Crazy right? But we became very close and eventually fell in love... as cheesy as it sounds. He is always there for me when I need him, when I'm ready to break down and cry to when I am struggling with school to my greatest accomplishments. For six years he has been by me... in the form of a phone. But I want a hug, I want to laugh with him. I want to see him. See a movie, walk hand in hand, the whole cheesy romance movie scene!

We had planned every year to somehow conjure up enough money to meet in Seattle, but to no avail. We already have trouble paying for school and rent. Plane tickets, hotel rooms, food, and taxi money really builds up on the calculator. But we want this year to be the year! December 2016! That is the goal.

And then I heard of this site.... it's a long shot, but it's a chance. Even if the goal isn't met by December 2016, it's enough to get me a single step closer. That is the first step isn't it? To meet. Will you help me?

I would be so happy to see him for the first time... I honestly can't even imagine it. And if this goal reaches.... I'd be so thankful that I might just cry endlessly. If it's in my power... I'd do anything to repay you. And I mean that with utmost sincerity.
