The Emmunuel International School

The EMMANUEL BRITISH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL is a start-up comprehensive international community School based in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.

The Proposed International School will be an independent coeducational day school for 300 pupils aged 10-18. Founded by UK voluntary organisation, Good Shepherd, the school aims to provides academic excellence combined with a wide range of extracurricular opportunities and strong pastoral support.

The School supported by UKTI (UK Trade and Investment) will aim to prepare its students to excel as young leaders of tomorrow by combining an exclusive collegiate-based curriculum tailored specifically for children with enhanced, first class child care services. With dedicated efforts and resources towards ensuring top-rated education, the school will provide affordable high-quality activity based learning environment tailored for children in these age groups. The School will respond to the needs of its parents and students with excellent care-giving and instruction, an advanced curriculum, flexible programs, local community involvement, integrated programs and innovative learning approaches.

The EMMANUEL BRITISH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL was born out of the work by Good Shepherd, a social welfare not-for-profit organisation based in the UK which enables the people of East London to deal with crisis and transform their lives. Director Christine Meade, a qualified teaching practitioner has a passion for working with young people and with over 20 years’ experience in the voluntary sector, she has helped children and adults all over the UK reach their full potential.

Education is more important than ever, and the Emmanuel International School was born out of the desire to bring education to the forefront of Africa’s social objectives, providing the children of Tanzania with the best education Britain has to offer. As a social enterprise, our mission is to ensure we are supporting the undeveloping and developing communities in Africa with education in order to inspire empowerment, equality and economical growth; vital for the prosperity of the nation.

With a year in the making, we have secured a property in Dar-es-Salaam, and we are trying to raise money to go towards helping with the costs for operations to help the school get started including annual rent, school transportation, equipment, administration and staffing costs.

$10 will pay for 1 book per student, $50 will pay for a desk and chair per student, $300 will pay for a computer and other technical equipment urgently needed..
