The dream of engineering was lost and the cruelty of life came

I am Alaa al-Najjar, a farmer, a student, out of school, a construction worker, a blacksmith, and a sofa-maker. I am 23 years old.

I went to study architecture at university but I couldn't because of the financial situation.

To help my family in the cruelty of life, due to the lack of a source of income for us in the family, in addition to my mother’s illness and my father’s old age.

In the past years, and since my childhood, I worked in several fields including blacksmithing, construction, agriculture, fabric making, etc. I continued my studies. Then I succeeded in school and I could not study at the university due to the economic conditions.

I moved in to grow and sell fresh vegetables for the community to maintain my family's residence.

My farm was damaged and lost everything due to the toxic pesticides and vandalism by the occupation forces,

I need more investment in the farm to grow a sustainable business, and I also need help to pay off some of the debts that we inherited due to the repeated losses caused by the Israeli forces. And family debt, it takes time to get back on your feet.
