The Dales Christmas Care

The Dales in Skipton is a privately run care home for the elderly and we rely on volunteers the whole year round but never more so than during the festive season. This year we have been run extremely short and have had to contract in work from temp agencies meaning that we actually have no budget left for any sort of festive celebration for the wonderful older people that are in our care. Many of the people we look after haven't had a visitor in months and many won't have anyone come to wish them a Merry Christmas. All we ask is a small donation to help us put something together to try and ease the lonliness of a Christmas in a care home. Every year I sacrifice my own Christmas to bring joy to so many others but this year, without your help, I just won't be able to do that. Please, help these people. They don't want gifts, they don't need iPads or laptops. They just want to feel involved and important for this one day of the year. I cannot put into words the gratitude these people show and just how amazing it is to see someone smile who hasn't done so in months. Christmas is for sharing, share a little with them; they have no one else.
