The Creole World is a single-player role-playing game and is hybrid of history and the adventure genre that’s challenging yet fun and can be played by both guys and gals, ages 13+ on a PC or Mac platform. As such, it is expected to have a ‘T’ rating. The target audience is expected to have experience playing video games, so it will be easy for them to learn and play. Although The Creole World is intended for entertainment, it is also meant to be educational as it covers a significant event in World History. It is based on a documentary, "Echoes of Colonization: Creole Culture in Louisiana and Haiti," which I'm currently producing. Once the player has chosen what role he's going to play, (wealthy landowner, merchant, musician, craftsman, or slave), he has to survive the Haitian Revolution by fighting, political strategy or saving enough capital to avoid the war and head to Louisiana. If the player has a family, he has to keep them alive before, during and after their migration. If the player can afford to sail to Louisiana, he must survive the trip by not getting sick, affected by dangerous weather or dying. Once in Louisiana, the player must buy property or find employment. If the player lives, has a healthy family and successfully contributes to or participates in Creole society (education, the arts, politics, religion, agriculture), he gets to attend Mardi Gras, where he can share the beads he's accrued and get crowned during a parade.
