Imagine being hungry.... Imagine that your ONLY meal for the day is a peanut butter and jam sandwich.... EVERY DAY at THE CRADLE OF HOPE in Krugersdorp we BUY 88 loaves of sliced bread at a cost of R572-00 per day, R17 732 -00 per month and R212 784- 00 per year.
EVERY DAY we have amazing volunteers who assist us with the preparation of the sandwiches. From around 11h00 EVERY DAY around 250 to 300 hungry adults and children pass by our HOUSE OF RESTORATION for a sandwich or two. Loads of elderly people, homeless people, vulnerable people, addicts and sex workers, as well as MANY MANY children are served EVERY DAY. For many of them this is their only HOPE of getting something to eat. We just CANNOT do this without your help. You can contribute financially or you could get your friends and family together to collect peanut butter and jam and loaves of sliced bread for our Community Feeding Scheme. We are also desperately looking for a donor for our bread as the cost of buying the bread EVERY DAY amounts to R212 784-00 per year (this project has now been running for TWO years). Every loaf of bread, every jar of peanut butter and every can of mixed fruit jam helps us to BE THE DIFFERENCE!! Or you could become part of our great group of committed volunteers. PLEASE help us if you can!!
As a NON PROFIT ORGANISATION receiving ZERO funding from the Government it is only with generous gestures from big-hearted people like YOURSELVES that our organisation has been able to undertake and accomplish various projects like this.
