Problem Statement
There is a serious problem of illiteracy among the children of Peramiho Ward Songea. In the whole Ward, involving 4 villages, there is no kindergarten for the young children. The young children before joining Primary school are not given any formal education. They are left at home playing without any care. At the age of 7 children join Primary School completely unfounded. As a result, they cannot catch up with the Syllabus of the school. In the long run, when they complete Primary school, about 12% find themselves unable neither to read nor to write. On the other hand side there is also a big challenge of violence against children in Tanzania, among girls, 72% experience some form of physical violence, while for boys the figure is 71%.
The villagers have noticed the need for a Kindergarten on their own initiative they have gathered 50 young children and have begun kindergarten classes and child care services to the small renovated building. However, there is no quality classroom, no office, and no kindergarten buildings that favorable for children who use small renovated building but it is not enough due to the increasing the number of children who does not carrying the capacity of the building.
The services for children at the present center is not quality in 100% due to the building are small and even the land not enough for creating more playgrounds and sports pitch for developing cognitive ability of the children.
Villagers agree together to prepare all required local materials for the construction of Kindergarten School at Peramiho Ward Songea Rural Ruvuma Region Tanzania. Challenges AIDS and Malaria in Africa (CHAMA) Tanzania members and parents have prepared 30,000 burned bricks and agree to prepare other local building materials, but they are unable to buy industrial materials for the kindergarten school building.
Project Objectives
- To construct Kindergarten School buildings within one year for children 2-6 years.
- To purchase the necessary classroom materials for the Kindergarten

Financial and Progress Reports
Challenge AIDS and Malaria in Africa (CHAMA) country coordinator will submit the financial and progress reports every month and quarterly to the donor. The financial reports will reflect the budget description of the projected costs. In the reports we shall explain the achievements obtained and the problems encountered in the implementation of the project as well mechanism that used to curb the challenge. The financial reports will be presented in the typical mode of income and expenditures, attached with relevant photographs and transactions slip. When the project is fully realized we shall submit the final report, in the end of August 2022.

Project Sustainability
After project funding is completed, Challenge AIDS and Malaria in Africa (CHAMA) and its Executive Committee and School Construction Committee together will agree on common ways and means of raising more financial resources to sustain the school. The school will be a day school, not a boarding school for starting but our target to be a boarding. Fund raising activities will continue to be performed in order to solicit funds from different various sources for maintaining the sustainability of the school.
Adopting education for self-reliance policy, the children community under their staff will perform tasks to bring into the school bursary some income. Such tasks can be food crops cultivation for the school, animal keeping including running expenses of the school. The income from the self-reliance will be used to pay the salaries for the teachers and other workers.
The parents also will have to contribute foodstuffs for tea break and lunch to children on school days. Challenge AIDS and Malaria in Africa (CHAMA) authority in collaboration with the local community will make a governing body, which will be responsible for the supervision and running of the school.
The governing body with the active cooperation of Challenge AIDS and Malaria in Africa (CHAMA) should create criteria’s of supporting Special Need Children and Children Living with HIV/AIDS, in order to get chance of free education.
