I am Cleo Filander-South African national, prospective undergraduate, language enthusiast and amongst all else, aspiring human rights barrister. After much internal debating and mental tug of war ,I have chosen to undertake a LLB degree in law, as I feel it is something for which I have been chosen ,as opposed to a mere occupation. I yearn to speak for and defend others, particularly those who have been rendered incapable of doing so for themselves. I wish to do so, because we , as humanity, have a duty to not only live for ourselves, but instead to take a stand against crimes targeted toward those of a disadvanced disposition. I hope to one day venture where very few ever have and to be the voice of the frightened, silenced and hopeless. I aim to learn the ins and outs of law (not only locally but internationally) to assist in the alleviation n of worldly poverty, corruption, human trafficking, crimes directed toward women, children(femicide in particular) and the revolution of education-an inadequate measurement of intelligence at present. I thus envision myself as a well-established associate of the United Nations and other affiliations of its kind and hope to bring change on a political, socio-economic and moral level.
At present, I am working as a temporary assistant at a book store to contribute towards my prospective expenses; I have also been offered a position at The University of Westminster (In London ,UK) which I have eagerly accepted, but coming from South Africa (a developing country at present) as well as a single-parent-headed-home, I find myself in a position where I would be unable to afford the costs of tertiary education, basic living expenses, accommodation and the like, while residing abroad....Consequently, I am seeking the assistance of individuals willing to donate to this noble cause .
Help me change the world for the better.
I Thank you.
