My name is Aswad.
I am a currently Homeless/Unemployed ebook Author living in Los Angeles.
Like so many others I have been looking for work for three years now to no avail. I have been through many job training and resume classes and still have not been able to land work.
What I do have however is my book, Who is Celinda Grey? The story of a young Black girl who after loosing a beauty contest in her hometown of Washington, DC goes on to Paris to become a world famous Super Model.
After retiring from the runway and giving birth to twins, she returns to America, with only one baby.
She then buys a half interest in a major fashion magazine and comes into conflict with her male business partner. And her son. And her boyfriend; her business partners son.
One part Jackie Collins, one part Dynasty, the book is fun, with lots of Glitz and Glamour in the style of the 1980's Soap Opera's, but with African-American Characters!
What I Need & What You Get.
Bottom line: I need money. To rent a Live/Work space, for computer upgrades, account upgrades, packaging supplies, phone cost, research and travel. I'm trying to put together a Production Package to submit to studios here in Los Angeles.
The perks I'm offering are; a simple thank you listing in upcoming revisions of the manuscript itself, becoming a charachter in the sequel, and a lunch date with pictures and autographs with the Author! Me!
If the initial goal isn't reached, the collected funds will be used to fund as much of the project as possible and another campaign possibly re-launched.

Who is Celinda Grey? Is a class act! Black! Business! Glamour! This story has it all. Picture it; a rich Black woman, dressed constantly in indisyncratic Gray Houte Couture, running a high end fashion magazine all on her own. Not letting anything stop her, be it her racist male business partner or her Black Frencg Lover and Father of her children. Nothing will stop this woman from getting what she wants! The question is can she keep it? Help this story make it's journey from the page to the screen!
