I have been so blessed by knowing some of the greatest people in the world both professionally & personally, and over the years have forged some loyal strong ties. Its at this time that I once again call upon you for the most important events in my life. For those of you who have known me, you know that most of my life I suffered from being overweight. Ok now I realize that under the circumstances there are much worse obstacles to face, but Ive endured so many obstacles in my life and to reach 623lbs something just wasnt right. In 2007 I sat down with Bariatric Surgeon Dr Cappella  who was referred to me by a family member who saw that my health was declining and causing me countless health problems as well as falling into a severe depression.  I never wanted to do those crazy surgeries or quick fixes for losing weight. I had always believed that if you need to change your body that you needed to adopt a healthy diet & exercise regiment, but as everyone knows its easier said than done. It all started as a kid where I endured countless name calling and ridicule... Now I know what your probably saying.... WAA WAA WAA man up you big baby.... But as a kid it hurts just as much as when your an adult or even more cause as kids we havent mastered the art being able to let it roll off you. Now I know there are people starving, and kids dying of Cancer and some many other terrible things that happen that shouldnt. In 1987 I had gotten into comedy and for me it was an outlet to vent about what I was going through at that time in my life and I got to make people laugh and I knew from that point on it was my calling. Well after sitting down with Dr. Cappella I knew I was in good hands and agreed to have the Gastric Bypass, and on February 17th 2007 I underwent surgery and from that moment on my life was changed forever and I was on top of the world... The weight came off in record time and as with any procedure I had battled minor complications which got progressively worse. As was told to me the skin is not like a rubber band it only stretches so far. And everyone was so proud of me and told me how great I looked and I wasnt use to hearing praise from anyone. The problem  was that after my surgery I had met a girl who I eventually married and it was a rocky road from the start... Instead of being supportive of my new found look she claimed dont pat yourself on the back too much cause you needed surgery to lose weight, so that makes you a cheater... Wow this was supposed to be my wife... WTF ???? Then besides the just plain horrible look I see in the mirror in certain spots of my body from the leftover skin I had been out with my wife and another couple and I excused myself to the bathrooom, upon returning I heard them talking about my surgery and what I was about to hear really floored me... My wifes friend nicknamed me the skin man and from that day on I knew I had to get rid of it... Unfortunately the insurance company would not cover the body lift procedure that I needed due to the fact it was considered cosmetic and the out of pocket cost to have it done was way out of my reach... So back comes depression and all that fun stuff. So when I told my friend and mentor Bob Levy he suggested to have a fund raiser for me to help me... And my eyes lit up and I was excited at this idea. But I sat and thought about it and felt so guilty by having a fundraiser for myself so that leads us to where we are now.

On October 6th, Bob Levy and some of the greatest comedians of all time and all around good guys are getting together to help me achieve my dream of being  physically normal  for once in my life... I cant stress how much this event will impact my life and so I call upon you all to PLEASE come and join me for a great night of laughs and help me reach my goal... As of right now we have a goal of 250 tickets which would put us over the top and I dont have to look in my mirror and cringe at myself anymore.... I can guarantee you this night will be a night to remember.. Johnny Apicella & the staff at The Chandelier are putting together a great menu for us and have given us such a great deal to help us make the night special....
