Your donation will definitely help us to keep traditional folk music and song alive and well. Your donation will be used to ensure that the club has a bright future, bringing the best of folk music to the North East and nurturing young talent.
The club is run by Mike Donelly and Peter Armstrong and we are organising Sixty Years of Folk to remind people about the proud history of the folk club and make people aware that the club meets every Monday from 8pm, upstairs in The Bridge Hotel. Check our website at www.bridgefolk.co.uk
Started by Johnny Handle and Louis Killen in 1958 and once known as The Folk Song and Ballad club it was the catalyst for many North East folk clubs. By donating you are contributing to another page in our story.
We are also running several POP UP folkclub events in our fundraising campaign
At Sage Gateshead on 14 September we are hosting a Sixty Years of Folk celebration, featuring The High Level Ranters and friends, fine local singers, and special guests The Wilsons - with the ever-popular star of the show, the folk club raffle! For tickets go to www.sagegateshead.com
We also hope to be at Whitby Folk Festival (August 18th-24th ) - check the website for details.
